Back on track.
After a few bad days I'm back. This past weekend I went on no less than three motorcycle rides, the last being on Sunday. We rode ( in the rain) to New Milford to join up w/ friends and family. Then headed to the Meadowlands to join up with a few hundred of our closest motorcycle buddies. We rode around on closed highways and roads all over Northern NJ and to Piermont/Nyack, NY, winding down to a sponsored event, Party Under The Bridge, for the Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital At HUMC. It was amazing to ride around when the roads were closed. People stand outside their homes and others get out of their cars to watch and listen to hundreds of bikes go by. While we rode on Rt. 17, I watched the planes coming into Teterboro and wondered if people looking down thought it was aunts marching. Our motorcycling started off on Friday, where we rode to the Black Dirt Region, Pine Island, NY. This is where it is perfect conditions to grow onions. Onions are literally falling into the street. Also I learned about sod farming. I never thought about where sod came from, it looked like a great place to golf, but minus the holes. I will say it is the blackest dirt I've ever seen. I think it is probably great for a spa mud bath, but no one was offering a place to do that. I would look funny mixing up my own mud on the side of the road, so no spa bath. Fun was had!
