What's goin' on??
Well a lot! For starters we did dig out from under the snow piles, but Sunday after the storm I could not go down the street with my car. I got pushed out of the driveway and zoomed down the one way snow street only to be met with someone else stuck. Well forget about backing up, I was stuck. I was pushed back into the driveway and I packed some things to stay at Mom's house. I stayed for two days and took her car to work. Ahhhhhh nothing like staying at Mom's. No dog to walk, no cats to feed, and no noise. Well a little noise, Joe's alarm for the store went off in the middle of the night, so the alarm company called, but all was well. No biggie. That same Monday I felt ....basically like shit, my back hurt and I ached all over. I thought it was from shoveling. The week continued and I went home after the town did some more street cleaning. Thursday I still felt really awful and had a rash from using the heating pad on my back. Long story short, I have Shingles. Yay me !! I have rested and now am coming along, but I would never look at a rash and think, gee shingles, but life happens. While I did all my resting I sat around and caught up on DVRs of CSI Miami, as well as watched the birds at my bird feeder. But at this time of year keeping it up at all is playing with fire. We decided this past Monday morning would be my last chance to see my birds and the bird feeder was set to come down in the afternoon. But at 9p it was still up. We both thought, oh well there is always tomorrow. But I heard a stirring out there. Oh yeah it was a bear. The bear flattened my feeder like a pancake and was sitting on my Hydrangea eating away. I watched for a moment, when out of the corner of my eye I saw another bigger bear. Momma!! She flattened my bird bath in one swoop and batted the little one away. The rest was hers. I had to wake up Chuck and then we both watched for 1/2 hour. This was super up close and personal. I'm talking less than five feet away. The snow may have melted and spring may be coming, but new things are up in the warmer months to come.
